Aldi approval coming...

My fellow Tattlers, recently quite a few of you have made comments in regard to the possibility of an Aldi being built along McKnight Road. Well, Ross Township Board of Commissioners will be considering the issue Monday evening.

From their agenda:

SP-07-5 - Northway Group, LP requesting Site Plan approval for the purpose of constructing a
freestanding retail building on property located at 8000 McKnight Road in a C-1
Zoning District of the 9th Ward.

The board meets at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 11 at Ross Community Center, 1000 Ross Municipal Drive. If this may be a hot button issue for you, let your voice be heard!

Working to keep you posted....

Oh, I don't know, is it really the Aldi's that's the issue? I tend to think it's more about the general direction and choices being made by the north hills "leaders" that is the issue, not Aldi's specifically.

Sure let's through up a thousand and one obstacles for Walmart to open a Super Center, a store that actually provides services and products that north hills residents already drive a distance to access and smooth the way for every tacky nickle and dime outfit that comes along.

Why? Because of politics and nothing more.

I wasn't sure what an Aldi was until I googled it, and then I remembered that I once went to one in Slippery Rock, and that it provided very cheap food for very poor college students.

I'm not against having an Aldi, but really, do they think they're going to do well here? I don't.

We live near an aldi distribution centre in the Wirral, Cheshire, it is a nightmare, suppliers wagons using area as giant carpark and toilet, refrigeration units running all night long stopping local residents sleep, extreme noise issues when they load, increased diesel fumes..

The whole aldi thing should be stopped.. they are damaging the rural areas, residential areas etc.
