New Restaurants Open...

For those who have not noticed it yet -- McKnight Road has two new restaurants that recently opened along the busy corridor. This Tattler saw that Famous Dave's Barbecue opened in the former Lone Star Steakhouse location and Emiliano's Restaurant & Cantina is at the former Don Pablo's.

Famous Dave's is a barbecue restaurant that is VERY similar to Smokey Bones. However, this Tattler could not resist himself and went for lunch a few days ago. The waitstaff is friendly, the menu has a good amount of selection and the food tasted pretty good, especially their award winning barbecue sauce.

The only problem with the new restaurant would be the small space available where it is located. Yes, the indoor decor is very charming but I could not imagine how long people are going to wait for a table on the weekends.

Emiliano's is a Mexican restaurant that originally was going to be called Cinco de Mayo's. This Tattler is assuming the cuisine will be similar to what Don Pablo's offered.

Since local residents can get authentic Mexican at El Campesino and Tex-Mex at Mad Mex, I'm thinking the restaurant will offer Americanized Mexican. This Tattler did try to grab a bite at Emiliano's but the restaurant closed early because of water issues.

However, someone I know did go on their opening weekend - the wait was long and the service was not great. I wouldn't count this restaurant out yet because it probably was just going through opening jitters.

Let this Tattler know what you think about these two new eateries at Working to keep you posted...
